Weather Has the Last Say as QLD Sidecar Titles Cancelled

AUSTRALIA. Queensland’s Speedway Subcommittee regrets to announce that tomorrow’s state sidecar titles event at Maryborough will no longer be held, due to rain received and the expectation of more.

Having been postponed once already, the event has now been cancelled altogether, as there is not sufficient time to organise it before the upcoming Aussie titles, for which it acts as a qualifier.

The situation reinforces the subcommittee’s position that all Queensland titles be run before December, to provide time for re-runs if necessary.

With its qualifying process negated, the speedway subcommittee intends to count the top four Queenslanders from last year’s nationals as its qualifiers for the 2018 national title event.

The speedway subcommittee has made a concerted effort to notify those travelling to the event, but also asks that speedway fans spread the word.

With the U21 250cc solo title scheduled for next weekend in Brisbane, it is hoped that the weather will not play a part on consecutive weekends.
