AUSTRALIA, VICTORIA. While Victoria’s Barry Francis’ Western Region Motocross Series was being conducted in racing favourable conditions it was a different story for Victoria’s Northern Region Motocross Series and Gippsland Motocross Series.

The Gippy’s where scheduled to race at Blue Rock just on the outskirts of Moe. The forecast was for 10-20mm rain. Saturdays racing for the juniors was on point, however, Saturday night mother nature had a different idea turning Blue Rock into a perfect facility for remote control boat racing and Robbie Maddison’s surf motorcycle wasn’t available for a test run. “Due to extreme weather conditions the track is deemed unsafe we, [AIROH Gippsland Motocross Championships] unfortunately, advise all riders today’s racing has been cancelled. You will be notified ASAP for rescheduling.”

Shepparton was also hit by the rain with the Northern Region also being called off. “Unfortunately due to weather conditions that have deteriorated within the last half hour, racing has been called for the day.” Stated the Northern Region Motocross Series, “Thank you to those riders who stuck around and rode the track, you have to ride all kinds to be a good rider.
Results and points will not be posted until later. Thank you to the club, officials, first aid, mostly flaggies. Home to the heater or fire people it is only getting worse.”

Meanwhile, Horsham was mint for racing, however, it must have been snowing somewhere as it was definitely spanner weather.
