AUSTRALIA, VICTORIA. The weather forecasters are rolling their crystal ball and predicting that Victoria will have some awesome rain this weekend, and something about an Antartic cold spell, and as everyone is ‘so eager’ (yes, sarcasm) to go racing the keyboard warriors have started asking the question ‘are the Vics going to go ahead?’

Well, for starters the round is scheduled for Colac, the joint is sand, so rain shouldn’t be a problem, and either should be a lot of rain. I dare say this issue will be spectators and everyone else walking around in mud, and KJ says ‘so be it.’

So what it is going to be wet, so that means a little more preparation. The first thing that sh*ts me in the wet is cold hands, so if I was riding the waterproof gloves would find their way into the gear bag, the second that annoys KJ is goggles fogging up, so it would mean a trip to the chemist, local bike shop or Autopro for some anti-fog wipes. The rest of the preparation would be the same unless you want to go AMA Style and put foam all over your bike.

So as an athlete if you don’t want to get dirty, or your bike dirty, then don’t come to the races, don’t enter, and only ride in the sunshine. For KJ I’d be like wanting it to rain as I am not a good jumper and love corners, so the wet weather would mean that I may see the last lap board instead of just seeing the chequered flag.

So harden up princess’ it is going to be a wet and cold weekend.
