CRANBOURNE North rising motocross star Jackson Lyttle won his first-ever motocross title at the final round of Victoria’s top motocross competition for juniors – the 2015 Victorian Junior Motocross Championships – at the Blue Rock Motorcycle Club in Newborough over the weekend, August 1-2.
Jackson, 9, took out the 50cc Division 2 class by 13-points over Jake Snow and Jake Sanderson. Remarkably, he won every race at the final round, earning his second overall victory for the season, and first-ever motocross title in the process.
The fledging motocross talent was thrilled at winning his first trophy: “I really enjoyed winning. It was really good event, and the track was really fun,” Jackson said.
“I really enjoyed the hills and the corners at Blue Rock too,” Jackson added. Jackson picked Round 2 at Colac in May as his favourite round of the season so far. “I finished 1-1-1. It was a really good feeling. I just tried my hardest,” Jackson said.
Jackson will move up a class into the 65cc A Grade and hopes to win yet another Victorian title. “That would be really nice,” he said.
He would like to thank Eight11 Racing, Just Cleaning and his Mum and Dad for helping him out this season.
Jackson would like to one day turn motocross into a career and become like Australian motocross and supercross star Chad Reed. “That would be my dream,” Jackson added.
