With a month away from the start of the 2019 MXGP season (round 1 is in Argentina) it has been rumoured that 2018 MX1 Champion Jeffery Herlings has had a practice accident and injured his right foot.

For non-moto people, the right foot controls the rear brake, and if you look at Ken Roczens’ Honda, HRC has made an adjustment to his rear brake as Ken places his foot under the lever for more lift, so it isn’t just the back brake that Jeffery Herlings could have difficulty in the opening rounds of the 2019 MXGP season.

Evidently, Herlings has had surgery and everything is going well and KTM will release a Press Release shortly, however, for us race fans, all we can do is hope that the injury isn’t like HRC’s Brian Bogers. Bogers spent most of the 2018 season off the bike due to his broken foot. A set back like this will not phase Herlings, last year he broke his collarbone just before the season started and still won the championship.

For Antonio “Tony” Cairoli Fans, maybe, just maybe, 2019 will be the year Cairoli win his 10th World Motocross Championship, either way, 2019 is looking like an epic season for MXGP.
