AUSTRALIA, QUEENSLAND. Victoria’s Callum Norton has continued to impress in the MX1 of the MX Nationals with the final round being held at Coolum (11/12 August 2018). The Coolum circuit was extremely challenging over the weekend, with the sand creating a physically demanding and technical track.

Norton qualified in twelfth position on Saturday for Sunday’s racing with a 1:49.569.

Moto One Norton got a great start and sat in third for the opening laps of the moto before having an off dropping to sixth, then working his way back to fifth.

Moto Two, another great start saw Norton sit in the third for half of the race before a charging Caleb Ward working his way from a poor start through the pack to third. After running out of fuel in the opening moto, Brett Metcalfe passed Norton for fourth place. Norton would stick with the series veterans for the remainder of the race finishing in fifth place.

On his eighteenth birthday, Norton went dual fifth places for a fourth overall.
