It hasn’t been roses for the 2012 65cc World Champion Caleb Grothues this year over in Europe. The teenager has struggled aboard his Diga Procross Husqvarna, firstly not qualifying for some rounds in European 125cc class, then the step to the European 250cc hasn’t been much better, subsequently the contract was voided. With the announcement of Grothues being thrown a lifeline this week moving to the ASTES4-TESAR Yamaha 250cc 4-Stroke and looking at the free practice times for the MXGP of Lombardia, it looks like the sun is breaking through the dark clouds of Grothues career.

In the EMX250 Free Practice Group 1, Grothues has set the twelfth fastest lap time, and in the Timed Practice Group 1, Grothues posted the twenty-first fastest time.
