HAMILTON motocross star Lachlan Davis has just one more round to go to wrap-up a very successful 2015 Victorian motocross season.

After winning the A-Lites class last month at Albury-Wodonga, Lachie will now aim to clinch the coveted Under 19s title at the final round of the 2015 Victorian Senior Motocross Championships at Ballarat’s Monza Park this Sunday, August 16.

Lachie, 19, heads into the final three races of the season with a 16-point lead over Narre Warren South’s Jake Salems, and a 48-point lead over Hoppers Crossing’s Joshua Hunt. Lachie has topped the Under 19s class so far this season, winning five out of eight races.

Lachie, who struggled with illness at the last round of the 2015 MX Nationals at Nowra in NSW on August 2, is hoping he’ll be fully-fit to be able to add another title to his trophy cabinet on Sunday.

“I’ve had a couple of days off work just to get better for Sunday. I’m hoping I’ll be alright,” Lachie said. “I’ve been pushing my motorbike up and down the driveway at home wishing I could ride so I’m pretty keen for Ballarat,” Lachie added.

Davis is also looking forward to competing at Ballarat’s Monza Park. “I love the track at Ballarat. It’s a bit hard-packed and it’s got up-and-down hills, which is like the track at home. It’s also not too far from where I live in Hamilton so I’ve ridden there a few times,” Lachie added.

Aside from the final round of the VSMXC, Lachie has two more rounds of the MX Nationals; Round 9 at Toowoomba on August 23 and Round 10 in Coolum on August 30.

He would also like to try his hand at supercross, and eventually compete in some rounds of the upcoming Australian Supercross Championships starting in October.

“I’ve never really ridden a supercross track before but I like jumping. It’s one of my favourite things to do. I’m hoping I can get the hang of it,” Lachie said.

Lachie also plans on competing in the Pro Lites class at next year’s Victorian Senior Motocross Championships.

He would like to thank Williams Full-tilt Racing, WBR Motorcycles, Waltanna Farms, Hamilton Gymnasium, and Scott Gear for all their support this season.

Lachie is hoping to have three consistent races on Sunday. “I’m hoping to not have any issues and come away with another championship. It would be awesome,” Lachie added.
