QUEENSLAND. Motorcycling Queensland, the administration and management body for motorcycle sport and recreation in Queensland, is seeking an innovative, lateral thinking Operations Manager.

The MQ Operations Manager will join a small and friendly team based in the organisation’s head office in Ipswich.

The successful applicant will be confident in their ability and possess outstanding organisational and communication skills and will be able to establish positive working partnerships with Motorcycling Queensland clubs, event promoters and other internal and external partners and stakeholders.

In order to be considered for the role of MQ Operations Manager, you will be able to successfully respond to the following Key Selection Criteria:


-contribute to, and drive the operational objectives of the organisation, including the implementation of the Operational Plan;

-oversee the development of the annual events calendar and manage the pre- and post-event requirements of event promoters;

-develop, implement and review sport development initiatives and programs;

-experience in working with volunteers and a strong understanding of club management (especially those managed by volunteers);

-dispute resolution skills;

-manage multiple tasks simultaneously for successful outcomes;

-minimum 3-5 years in managing staff and small teams.


A knowledge of, or interest in, the sports and recreation industry and/or motorcycle activity would be an advantage.

Job Title:  MQ Operations Manager
Reports to:  General Manager
Status:  Permanent Full-Time
Location: MQ Head Office, Level 2, 8 Gordon Street, Ipswich
Salary Package: Negotiable $68,000 – $74,000pa + super, subject to skills & experience
Leave loading: 17.5%
Qualifications: A sport related degree or equivalent practical experience in an equivalent industry is desirable.
*A three month probation period applies to this position.
