‘Australia’ sold off for Aussie MXoN Team

Motorcycling Australia has announced that MXStore is the ‘naming’ sponsor for the Motocross of Nations team, great? right? Well KJ is going to be negative. But hey you can sell off Australia to the highest bidder! MA in its wisdom (yes sarcasm) has also done this for the ISDE (6 Day Enduro) to Recover8. Don’t have an issue with Team Australia MXStore or Team Australia Recover8 Team but anything before Australia just makes Australia look cheap and that anyone can buy it, no you just can’t buy Australia!!! And look at all the advertising already.

Logo before Australia is just cheap and would be better as Australian MXStore MX Team. And realistically no one is going to say it anyway (so why is KJ bitching? because I see it as disrespectful), I am sure that MXGP Commentator Paul Maulin isn’t going to say MXStore.com.au Australian MX Team on live coverage (which can be purchased by mxgp-tv.com) but I bet all the Motorcycling Australia press releases will have it plastered everywhere. To me, it is disrespectful and annoys me greatly and I feel that MXStore has been sold a lemon (ripped off). To have anything before Australia in a World Event is just wrong and conspiracy me thinks what else is MA going to sell off? MA is supposed to represent all riders, and to have a naming sponsor is a conflict of interest, Australia is the naming sponsor! Too bad if a rider has a sponsor that is in competition to MXStore or Recover8 only to have it plastered over everything where Australia should be, Australia should always be first in an Australian named team… In a perfect world, when an athlete buys a National race licence a piece of that licence fee should go to an overseas team fund for each discipline (not as an extra!!! State bodies add their fee over MA fee, it is to be taken out of the MA fee) that way an Aussie Team doesn’t have to crowdfund to represent Australia Overseas.
