2019 Sea Lake Mallee Rally Cancelled

The Sea Lake Mallee Rally has been going for many years (1987) and can remember going to watch the race as a kid. It is a shame that it isn’t going ahead this year due to complicated legislation. The Rally is held the Queens Long-Weekend and brings many people to Sea Lake. Is this the future of offroad sporting events within Australia? The A4DE, Australian 4 Day Enduro has been sacked for 2019 (twice in three years) also because of New South Wales paperwork and now a Victorian Event has also been cancelled because of paperwork.

“The message we didn’t want to have to send!!!! Unfortunately, due to running out of time, we are going to have to cancel this years Mallee Rally. We have tried our absolute hardest to navigate through the complicated legislation but now owe it to ourselves, sponsors & competitors to make the hard call of pulling the pin on this year & try to keep momentum going to have it 100% sorted for 2020! Hey, we were due to cancel this year anyway.” Sea Lake Mallee Rally social media.

Hopefully, 2020 will be a great year for the Mallee Rally. Sea Lake Off Road Club
