Priceys Atacama Rally starts a bit fizzy


SOUTH AMERICA, CHILI. The Atacama Rally begins directly 12th to the 18th of August. Aussie Toby Price is back on the bike saddle and the only Australian on the bike entry list.

The 2018 edition offers its competitors a challenging, unique and thrilling rally over a mix of mountain, valley and coastal terrains. Demanding extreme-navigation routes and incredible landscapes that will push your adrenaline and emotions to the max in the breathtaking Atacama Desert.

This year, the race will be run exclusively within the Atacama Region, based in the city of Copiapó. With five loops and just one bivouac, logistics are planned with ease for competitors and assistance teams.

The total race distance is 1,200 km of special stages over which the world’s best riders, amateurs and new entrants to world cross country will compete in this FIM Cross-Country Rallies World Championship fixture.” Atacama Rally.

However, Toby Price has had a minor setback with his gear bag. “Greeaaattttt start, open my gear bag to see all my gels, powders, liquids and hydration tables exploded or fizzed up in my bag… gear smells amazing but is sticky as shit 🤬🤬🤬 Might be a long couple weeks now without that gear 😂😂😂,” said Toby Price on social media. Hopefully Pricey can find a washing machine, but to replace the hydration kit may be a little challenging; however, KTM should have that sort of thing sorted.
