EUROPE, ITALY. Fourteen-Year-Old Australian Jett Lawrence has finished on the EMX250cc Round 7 Podium at the MXGP of Lombardia grasping the third step in spectacular fashion. Setting the fastest lap time in Saturday’s Free Practice and a top-six time in Timed Practice B on his Team Germany Suzuki Jett Lawrence has impressed by finishing tenth in the moto 1 after fading from fifth place. Sunday’s second moto in the Italian heat, Lawrence worked his way to the lead early, setting the fastest lap of the race on his fourth navigation, eventually winning the second moto by 6.788-second lead.

“I got a better start,” stated Jett Lawrence, “I didn’t go in so fast on the turn this time, I was behind Dylan Walsh, and he tucked the front which was bad luck for him but good luck for me, I just saw an opening, so I took it. Not the best first moto, the second I just wanted to push, my main goal was to try and get a race win, and I did, and I am so pumped with this. It is amazing.” Concluded an ecstatic Jett Lawrence.

The final moto victory place the Queenslander third overall for the round, and moves the Aussie up in the EMX250 rankings to seventeenth, not bad for his rookie season in a class that has no age limit competing on a Japanese made bike in a class dominated by European made machines.
