It is so awesome to announce that even though Toolleen MX facility just out of Bendigo has been vandalised and items were stolen, the Central Victorian Motocross Club is ready for action.

“Some hard work going on behind the scenes!” stated Toolleen MX Social Media, “a massive Thankyou to Mick Hendy putting in some serious hours to get us up and running! Our stolen Bobcat will not stop us or hold us back.”

The Bendigo Advertiser Reports: A central Victorian motocross club is reeling after thieves stole valuable equipment and trashed its property at the Toolleen motocross track.

Central Vic MX Motocross – Toolleen secretary Kasey Ludeman said the club was in the midst of upgrading the track when their bobcat was stolen earlier this week.

The ignition on the club’s tractor was broken by the bandits, who also smashed through its canteen.

The blow was particularly tough for the club, who had just appointed a new committee, Ms Ludeman said.

“We’re devastated,” she said.

“We were giving the track and the club a new lease of life, now this has happened – we can’t open the track.”

Ms Ludeman said the club could not afford to replace the bobcat, valued in the tens of thousands of dollars, and if they were unable to get some form of external funding, the 100-odd members would “lose their club”.

The club caters for a variety of age ranges, from juniors to seniors.

“It has impacted everyone with their practice – we have Australian title holders in our club – they won’t be able to ride their home track or race there anymore,” she said.

The club had advertised a public working bee for this Saturday, which will still go ahead, but with a focus on repairing the damage caused, Ms Ludeman said, urging the public to keep an eye out for the Caterpillar bobcat.

“We’re just hoping someone recognises it,” she said.

Police are investigating the theft, which may have occurred on Monday or Tuesday, Ms Ludeman said.

Motorcycling Victoria described it as a “heartless and malicious act”.

“The club has been left displaced, with no equipment and no funds to make repairs to the track and property. If there is anyone out there who is willing and able to assist the club with loaning equipment, manpower or can donate or support the club with items (such as glass) to fix the property it would be a phenomenal gesture. If you are able to assist in any way, shape or form please get in contact with Jen on 0459 708 415,” MV said in a statement.
